1931 Cadillac V-16 model 4260 Phaeton

This is the rare sport phaeton and has the Cadillac motor car co. distributors order sheet to accompany the vehicle. With the order sheet you can see the car is body number 56 and has the engine identification number 702889 so you know they are matching the vehicle offered. The body and original wood are in top condition with each door showing the 56 mark and the passenger floor having the Fleetwood and 4260 body stampings. The seat wood also has the 4260 stamp showing they belong to the car. The recipient of fresh paint in the early 80’s complete from the chassis up, all professionally done with the engine overhauled and cosmetically restored to look as new from a major disassembly this is as far is it made it. The upholstery remaining trim pieces and a few final mechanical issues remained to be completed when the project was stopped. With all the work being done to a high level of quality in the 80’s this will be a fairly simple project for the competent restorer as you have solid fresh clean parts to work with. The paint while still very presentable would most likely need to be redone to achieve the vibrant finish desired for today’s standards. The chrome would also need to be redone if restoring the car again and not just assembling it for completion as the bumpers and some other parts have never been redone and still show the age in the first plating. Other than the upholstery materials the car seems to be very complete with parts shown in the pictures representing everything we have to accompany the sale. These cars are recently selling in the mid to high 500,000 level and will soon be a million dollar car. Rarely offered this is a unique opportunity for the proper knowledgeable collector.
