1967 Oldsmobile 442

This is one of an elite group of cars that are nearly impossible to find. What you are seeing in the pictures is an original unrestored car that is better than most of its restored contemporaries. Original paint, interior, motor, trunk, tires, chrome and the list goes on. Lenny Fitch ordered this car new and never let it leave his possession. He painstakingly documented every oil change, lube job, air in the tires, and an exhaust system replacement, from day one until his last entry 8/13/1977 with 11,908 miles on the car. He saved all the original paperwork from the first order copy with a bench seat to the second one for the car that he had built in yellow with red interior. The original window sticker, warrantee card, finance contract, insurance paperwork, receipt for deposit, sales brochure, cloth for the windshield, radio tag, posi-traction tag and owners manual. Arguably one of the best documented 442’s in the country. Lenny even ordered personal plates ever year so everyone would know L 442 F was Lenny’s car and saved them.

He later added some under dash gauges (that could be easily removed but are part of the history), a set of American Racing Torque thrust wheels (the correct wheels and caps are back on the original tires on the car), and an electric fuel pump that has been removed but the toggle switch is still in the dash.

There are two paint flaws that have been shown as best they can in the photos. On either side of the “quarter” are two small dings (similar to a door ding) they do not show up in photos, and the rear window area appears to have been lightly dusted when painted because there is bare metal that has corroded as shown in the photo.

In January of this year the car was purchased from Lenny’s wife who had stored it for years. The gas tank has been replaced with a new one (the original comes with the car but has some scale inside and we have not found a way to have it cleaned without ruining the outside finish) the hood insulation has been replaced, the wheels were repainted, and the heater core will need to be replaced.

Mechanically the car runs like new, sits for a month fires right up, everything works, brakes are great, the transmission shifts firm, tires have some flat spots that go away after a few miles of driving. The exterior is nearly flawless with exception of the before mentioned two items, and the interior is a treat to anyone who knows original cars, perfect condition and the scent of a GM car that can never be duplicated in a restoration.

I am sure Lenny Fitch would love to see it go a good home.
