1953 Porsche 356 Pre A Cabriolet

This cabriolet is grey with red interior and a tan top. Everyone who sees it tells us it looks great in this factory delivered color combination. Porsche has spent six months looking for documentation of the car and has provided us with a completely blank certificate of authenticity stating no record on file for the motor, color or build date. We due have the early 1960 Mexican paper work showing the original engine number that is on the case in the car today and translates as a 1500 super. The car was originally the Swiss ambassador to Mexico’s car and is the only 356 Porsche certificate we have ever gotten with absolutely no records of the car. Possibly some special transaction between Porsche and the ambassador as Porsche recognizes the car manufactured but can not identify its history. The car has a very nice body with excellent fitting doors, hood and deck lid. No signs of any inner structure damage and excellent correct solid no rust floor pans. The car has a fantastic fit for its age showing it was well cared for over the years. A recipient of a recent full restoration it was completely disassembled and stripped to bare metal inside and out then the entire car was repainted color sanded and buffed. The under carriage was completely detailed and sprayed in a very thin coat of washable under sealant so you can still see the seems and factory welds in the closing panels and other chassis configuration connection areas. A new wire harness was installed along with a rebuilt transmission all new interior and top, weather stripping, then the restored parts were installed so as most everything you see has had some detailing to look nice. The engine was completely overhauled with new piston and cylinders, crank shaft, cam and freshly detailed shrouds and components. The rest of the engine bay and under the hood of the car were detailed for show. The banjo steering wheel was installed and 5 factory 16 inch wheels to complete the period 53 delivery appearance. Running and driving on a strong powerful engine this is an authentic pre- A Porsche you can drive on a factory 2 piece case.
