1955 Porsche 356 Speedster # 80503 US delivery

This is a 47,000 mile example documented by the stamped and signed title from 1966, factory material covered seats still in remarkable condition and odometer reading. The hood, doors, deck lid and door hinge cover plates are all marked with the matching last three digits of the cars serial number. The car retains the original floors from the factory, has no signs of accident damage, clip or kinking of the hood. The 1500cc motor and transaxle are the originals with numbers matching the Porsche certificate of Authenticity and Kardex. Factory tool roll and the cars original fuel stick remain in beautiful condition.

Beginning with such a pristine original car all the parts were removed and a bare metal better than factory body was prepared with no filler. Then primed and blocked repeatedly for a finish that was applied to meet original car paint meter standards. The car has a unique sound as you can hear all the metal in the car that not been muffled with filler. The shape of the body is amazing, gaps are the best the factory ever offered and bumper fit is completely symmetrical front and rear making for a no excuse panel fit and one of the best body speedsters in existence.

All mechanical systems have been overhauled, rebuilt or replaced with factory parts and detailed as new including the steering gear, link and king pin, four corner suspension with Koni shocks, the brakes from backing plates through wheel cylinders, hoses and drums, metal brake fluid reservoir remains original, transaxle tubes, trans axle and motor. The motor has the original carburetors with part tags still on them from the factory and is all authentic completely detailed to the new pea shooter exhaust. Fuse box cover retains the original label inside in excellent condition. Hardware for the car is Porsche factory ordered NSF bolts from the car each restored.

Trimmed as when delivered new with the exception of leather replacing the vinyl material areas for enhanced elegance. The top, boot and carpet are original German materials. The original seats in factory vinyl are included, documenting the before restoration condition as they were so nice. An additional set of speedster seats were trimmed in leather for the car with red piping matching the original combination.
